The last two offseasons in Sacramento have been like the first uphill on a towering roller coaster. Fans were filled with joy, excitement, and anticipation for the ride ahead. After nearly two decades of complete incompetence, the Kings finally had a path forward that could lead to consistent promise every season.  The ride, however, is currently under maintenance. The fans …

Yesterday morning, I woke up to a pinched nerve in my neck. It completely disrupted my day, and will continue to disrupt my life for about the next week or so (hopefully no more than that). In the morning, before I saw my doctor, I was in the most excruciating pain I have ever experienced in my life. I couldn’t …

Have you ever seen one of those behind-the-scenes videos from an action movie where a stunt double has to jump off a building? There’s usually a giant net or air cushion at the bottom, and you can see the stunt double falling only to be gently caught by the padding below. When I left the Wizards-Kings game Wednesday night, I …

As a Kings fan, I feel like nothing should be shocking anymore. There should be nothing that happens this season, or, frankly, in any season, that truly surprises the fan base. But can I sit here and tell you that I am not shocked by the dominating performance last night against Memphis? I can’t sit here and lie. Coming off …

This season in Sacramento Kings basketball has been one of constant upheaval. There have been very few moments where fans and players alike can truly sit back and go, “Hey, that was nice”. A season marred by horrific inconsistency, injury, a big-time firing, and the trade of a player we hoped would be here forever is no easy way to …

Coming out of the All-Star break, the Kings immediately did exactly what they were supposed to do. Sacramento played their part in making history, helping the Hornets set a new record for the worst point differential over a 3-game-span. In what was finally the Zach LaVine breakout game we’ve all been waiting for, the Kings cruised to a 130-88 victory, …

If you had told any Kings fan at the beginning of the season that this would be the end of the line for Mike Brown and De’Aaron Fox in Sacramento, you’d get a mixed reaction. No one would be happy about it, but this is the Kings I’m talking about. A team so passionately loved by many but plagued by …

I’m sure that in the coming years, I’ll regret some parts of this article. Oh well.  On the planet Venus, the surface is completely uninhabitable. A quick Google search will tell you as much. Surface temperatures can be more than 800 degrees Fahrenheit; if that isn’t enough, it rains sulfuric acid. The atmosphere is a thick layer of mostly carbon …

I’m going to begin by saying something important. Domantas Sabonis is leading the league in 3-point percentage. I’ll allow some time here to reflect and process that information.  Okay, back to your regularly scheduled programming.  I’ve been cautious recently not to speak about the future—to try to be as content as humanly possible with what the present brings and roll …

In most years, for most teams, a 13-game stretch isn’t going to tell you much about a team overall. Sure, you can pick up some things about how a team works: the roster, overall play style, and level of aggression. However, this year for the Sacramento Kings is not a normal year, and this team is not a normal team.  …
