You Hate To See It:
Go ahead nay-sayers, let me hear your whines and complaints now that he A’s new stadium is more than half completed, and the team just began hanging the stadiums trusses, which is one of the main constructions milestones regarding completion. A’s have also secured some more investors, and it’s someone you would’ve never guessed. You’ll just have to keep reading this lousy article to find out who.
Trust The Process:
All the peasants going about like piss-ants about the A’s new stadium are starting to hear echos as numbers of such doubters dwindles by the day as construction nears an end. With the stadium set to open for the 2028 MLB season, look for construction to be completed around a year from now, if not sooner by the way the team-architects talk about their baby. A’s have even completed their second placing of arches forming the roof of the newly built structure the A’s will call home in 2028. Construction is being completed ahead of schedule and it’s pissing off all the people that doubted the day would ever come.
Oh, There’s Funding For The Vegas Stadium:
There’s been rumblings about the funding regarding the stadium as well. People still want to act like the Athletics don’t have enough funding secured to complete the stadium. Only problem with that theory is the A’s are indeed completing the stadium and in rapid time as well. Don’t look now, but Mark Cuban has bought a stake in the team along with RaShaun Williams, the Atlanta Falcons minority owner, look to invest around $750 million with the Harbinger group. Cuban and others state that this isn’t a bail out for the A’s and that the Athletics franchise as a whole already had funds secured for completed construction way before their deal was ever finalized.
Athletics Will Always Be:
There’s been talks about the team name possibly being changed as well, but those are rumors nonetheless and there has been no valid report on such taking place. There have been rumblings since about 6 months ago when the A’s were denied a trademark regarding the team name “Las Vegas Athletics”. I don’t see the team changing their names though as they’ve been selling tons of apparel with the team name on apparel saying, “Las Vegas Athletics”, and the team even had apparel on hand for when the Athletics were testing the Las Vegas waters playing regular season games in their minor league affiliate’s stadium of the Aviators. The way the 2026 season has unfolded to now has left fans wondering if things can come together in Sacramento before they head to Las Vegas never to call California home again, for now. If the Athletics can somehow make it a possibility to qualify for the 2027 MLB postseason and host a home game, that would be a huge win for the A’s to display the disparage the league has made the A’s suffer through for 3 years as their home is built in Sin City. While I love baseball and the opportunity it has given to Sacramento fans to witness MLB baseball, I do feel like Oakland was left in the dark. Enter the glitz and glamor A’s era.
