Coach Kyle Shanahan has been involved in a serious recent car accident, which he just confessed to being his fault, although he wasn’t cited by law enforcement, according to authorities. There have been tons of fake reports out there that are swooning the social media realm, such as that he was with random women or that he was partaking in extreme partying, all of which is beyond fake news.
Funny thing is, the media is eating up the story more so than focusing on the actual approaching season, as the 49ers have already engaged in training camp, which was open to fans starting on July 26th.
For the fans that did attend, they were pleasantly surprised by the appearance of the so-called ‘banged-up’ coach.
Watch Out for the Fake News and Thirsty Media
You have idiots like Tim Kawakami stating that Shanahan could be out for 1 week or even as much as out for the remainder of the 2026 season. The fact is, no one really knows the medical details for sure except for the authorities that assisted Shanahan, and there’s a little thing called HIPAA, which prevents pests like Kawakami from infringing on personal information for his weasel posts and articles.
Like the true clown Tim Kawakami is, he’s always digging beyond his jurisdiction, needing to find the ‘real’ reason for the accident and ‘needing’ to divulge to the public about Shanahan’s actual injuries like he’s on the next episode of TMZ. Sorry Harvey, Tiny Tim has the scoop.

Credit: @OurSF49ers-InstagramTruth is, no one really knows what happened that day on July 14th except for the parties involved, so until game day, August 13th, the 49ers’ 1st preseason game of the 2026 season, you’ll be hearing a lot of speculation surrounding the injury/accident to Shanahan. That might not be a bad thing, too, given the direction this season is headed with the 49ers already having the most travel miles of all 32 NFL teams. That, and given their age at various key positions such as TE, OL, FB, and DL, it’s key that Shanahan be around as much as possible if they want to sniff anything close to their 2025 record of 12-5.
Jim Rome is even chiming in with Brian Baldinger about the ‘truth’ of the incident, which I remind you everyone is gobbling for clicks and likes; yes, I’m guilty as well, but for different reasons. I don’t care about the details of coach Shanahan’s private life, and honestly, neither should you. I care that people are probing into the private lives of others and worrying about things that don’t concern them or really aren’t their business. Just because I have and pay for season tickets along with being a fan doesn’t give me the right or privilege into any coach or player’s personal life.
This sadly includes the current situation surrounding 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

It went from people wondering what car he was driving, who was with him, where he was going, whose fault it was, what his injuries were, and whether anyone else was hurt. As more details come out about the details regarding the injures and accident I just hope that fans and media show some respect to both parties involved.
This isn’t the latest crazy news to shake the NFL headlines lately either, as a Chiefs assistant coach had a family member involved in a shooting.
This just goes to show you that no one or team is protected from the craziness in this world, and the best thing we can do is show some compassion, respect for privacy, and dignity for all.
