Just when you thought the subject was dead in the water, much like the ongoing Aiyuk saga, but no, we like drama here in the NFL.
Just when you think things couldn’t get any crazier regarding the 49ers and all the theories related to their various injuries supposedly caused by electronic magnetic pulse energy, AKA EMPs, which originally the team said was a non-factor.

Now wait just a minute, if it doesn’t exist and is a non-factor, then why is the team even considering looking into a relocation for practice?
That’s the million-dollar question, folks.
Funny thing is, the fact that they’re looking into the idea of relocating the practice facility will definitely give conspiracy theorists their green light that their theory has some legs to it, and that’s the last thing you want to do, especially with social media, which is rabid with no mercy for stretching out any sliver of truth into an actual conspiracy story.
How Dumb Does Management Think 49ers Are?:
Now, get this: the reason the 49ers give for the recent decision to ‘consider’ a move for their practice facility isn’t what you think, and the idea of EMPs isn’t even mentioned. In a recent article by Vic Tafur, who unfortunately writes for The Athletic, Al Guido, now the CEO, said the possible move of the 49ers’ practice facility was due to a lack of space.
Do you actually believe that? Why wasn’t this reported earlier by the media that the 49ers were lacking space in their aging practice facility? I truly believe that if it were a true topic on the table for the 49ers to renovate and relocate their practice facility, it would have been gobbled up by the local media, as those locusts are ready to swarm on the slightest hint of a possible story.
Not to mention the 49ers and the league were trying to tame the Reddit MDs who were ready to diagnose the 49ers as victims of EMP damage/exposure.
Al must think we’re all dumb idiots, or it appears that way.
Great Minds Think Alike
Those at Pro-Football-Talk, run by Mike Florio, think differently and aren’t fooled by the runaround Al Guido is leading. Like minds think alike, and Mike is in the same boat here as he believes there’s more to the situation than the 49ers are leading on, and I couldn’t agree more. We both believe that the best thing for the 49ers as a franchise is to move from their current location to calm the waves, give players the peace of mind that EMPs aren’t even a factor, and maybe show them that you might care about their health, safety, and well-being.
Since moving to their current practice facility in 1988, the 49ers have only won 1 Super Bowl in 1995, and since then, it’s been quite the opposite of the winning days of Montana and Young at the helm. Look for this story to snowball in totality until the red ribbon is cut to commemorate their new facility digs.
