I said we wouldn’t talk about him any longer, but it’s gotten so juicy that we have to talk about #11 again.
Yes, that #11, Brandon Aiyuk, who apparently is still on the San Francisco 49ers squad.
Not This Guy Again
Don’t ask me how, but he still is. Honestly, I thought he would have been traded either during free agency or even on draft day, but those dates came and went, and nothing ever came to fruition. Now, Aiyuk is stuck in the void where the 49ers don’t have to release or trade him if they don’t want to.
This has to be one of the craziest wide receiver drama scenarios since Terrell Owen left the 49ers. Then Owens was traded to the Baltimore Ravens, and he didn’t approve of it.
Instead of pouting about it, he had his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, in front of Owen’s establishment explaining why his player needed to be treated fairly—same vibe, different times, same team.
Can’t Do the Time, Don’t Do the Crime
I was going to ignore the story that recently came out about Brandon Aiyuk, who the San Mateo Police Department charged with reckless driving way back. Only a literal idiot or someone reaching out for help ever posts themselves breaking the law on social media. I knew the law would eventually make an example of him and charge him with a misdemeanor.
I don’t approve of the move to charge Brandon Aiyuk, as obviously, he needs help, and this isn’t the kind I think he needs. How south this relationship has gotten, it’s really in the best interest of the 49ers to release Brandon Aiyuk. They don’t need to ‘teach him a lesson’ or punish him for how things turned out. Sometimes relationships and friendships sour over the most simplistic things.
It’s absurd to think the Aiyuk saga will linger into the regular season, but it’s looking very much like that might happen.
Whose Side Are You On: 49ers or Aiyuk?

As most of you who read this article are adults and have had quarrels with one of your past employers, it’s no different in this situation. The slight difference is that Aiyuk isn’t afforded the same freedoms we might have, as he’s under contract with the 49ers and can’t just sign with another team.
This isn’t to say that Brandon Aiyuk is handling the situation perfectly, as he needs to stop going public with all these social media posts.
Recently, Aiyuk released a video calling the 49ers’ upper management, including Kyle Shanahan and Klay Kubiak, stupid and saying they’re mad they have to pay him $27 million per season. Over the past 20+ seasons, I’ve noticed the 49ers always say the right things publicly, but we never really know what goes on behind closed doors. Franchises only allow us to see what they want us to see, but over time, you can sense that something isn’t adding up. I get the feeling the 49ers are only telling us half the story.
Everyone’s Dirty Laundry Exposed
I hope the next thing we’re reading about Brandon Aiyuk is him re-signing with another NFL franchise, and me genuinely wishing him the best of luck on his journey.
Some fans took the situation between Aiyuk and the 49ers way too seriously, to the point of threatening the lives of Aiyuk and his inner circle.
One of the worst parts of this whole fiasco is that everyone’s laundry is exposed.
Aiyuk has signaled that the 49ers might not be a forthright franchise, while the 49ers portray Brandon as an ‘out-of-control’ prospect, which, of course, will hurt their chances of finding a suitable partner.
