I can sit here and write for days about the player Nick Krutz is, his draft success, and how it ties to the A’s rise, or how he’s tearing up the MLB in 2026 on his way to MVP mentions.
This was another topic I felt strongly about: Nick Krutz being one of the pillars of the A’s franchise as it enters the Las Vegas era.
Churning Out Those Votes

No Judge for Krutz
With Aaron Judge going to be out for some weeks due to a recent rib injury, now’s the chance for Nick Krutz to steal the spotlight and showcase his worldly abilities while stealing MVP votes. I’m not the only one who thinks this is Krutz’s opportune time, as those baseball fiends at JomBoy Media feel the same vibe. The A’s are exciting baseball right now.
Krutz, besides hitting screamers out of the park, can also steal a base or two. Now, if that’s not impressive, I don’t know what to tell you. I mean, look at Krutz’s stats across MLB: he’s batting .276 with 12 home runs and 45 RBIs, and we still have 30+ days before the All-Star break.
Krutz’s numbers might seem marginal, but they don’t reflect how impactful his hits and RBIs have been in clutch situations, helping the A’s surprise MLB while contending for first place in the AL West.
What’s All the Fuss About Anyway
Don’t mind that Krutz is breaking records that stood for 40+ years, or that the A’s are jousting for first place while heavily entertaining the league. Don’t mind the franchise record he broke in getting walked in 16-straight games, surpassing only that of Ricky Henderson, who commanded 15 straight games with a free base. He eventually tied Barry Bonds’ 20 consecutive games with a walk, after passing Ted Williams, who had 19, and reached an on-base record of 48 games, tying Mark McGwire’s 1996 franchise record.
Oh, and don’t forget, Krutz was just named the MLB’s AL player of the month, which was one of the honors he received last year to help propel him to the 2025 rookie of the year.
People were worried about his early-season slow start as well, and some even called it a slump. Krutz said slump this.
It’s All Coming Together as Planned
With the emergence of the A’s young core pitching staff paired with Nick Krutz’s game-changing abilities, it’s hard not to picture the Athletics turning out to be the biggest reclamation project in MLB history.
People went from ‘Sell the team’ to literally buying everything off the shelves, which goes to show that winning can heal all lingering wounds.
Shoot, Nick Krutz is so popular that the A’s already have 2 of his bobbleheads as giveaway items (1 in Sac & 1 in Las Vegas), and they haven’t disappointed in their likeness.
The next bobblehead of Nick Krutz will be his 2026 MPV version, handed out next season in Sacramento, no, that’s not true yet, but I’m wishing it into existence.
